THE OPPORTUNITY 



TechInsights is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing comprehensive test plans, executing complex testing strategies across multiple domains, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage strong knowledge of software testing best practices and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and smooth production deployments. Please note that this is an on-site role in our Ottawa office.
  


WHAT YOU WILL DO


 
  • Develop and review test plans with internal and external teams to ensure alignment with project standards and procedures. 
  • Design and execute full-stack test plans, applying best practices in software testing across assigned areas. 
  • Provide mentorship and feedback to junior team members to ensure high-quality documentation and test collateral. 
  • Verify traceability and take corrective actions to address issues within and outside the QA team. 
  • Execute manual testing and ensure automated testing is conducted for assigned areas, meeting Sprint commitments. 
  • Manage external team dependencies and support team members to ensure risk-mitigated deployment to production. 
  • Conduct complex process monitoring, product evaluations, and audits, occasionally leading team-wide initiatives. 
  • Report bugs, prioritize them, and ensure automation test coverage is planned, executed, and tracked with success metrics. 
  • Build and implement test plans aligned with a cloud-based CI/CD strategy, ensuring adoption by external teams. 
  • Develop and automate comprehensive test cases for both front-end and back-end testing. 
  • Analyze post-release failures, ensuring corrective actions are taken across all test domains. 
  • Drive adherence to quality processes, optimize QA operations, and establish new tools and strategies to improve the overall QA function. 


 
WHO YOU ARE
 

 
  • Passionate about testing and quality, with a team-player mindset and strong networking skills.
  • Strong experience in functional and end-to-end testing of cloud-based solutions.
  • Expertise in test automation design, automation frameworks, and QA tools (Selenium, Robot Framework, Rest Assured, Postman, etc.).
  • Skilled in programming or scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of performance testing.
  • Experience working with global teams and agile-scrum methodologies, including leadership roles.
  • Proficient in bug tracking tools like Jira or Bugzilla.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective and confident communicator.
  • Highly responsible, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver.
  • Excellent analytical skills, result-oriented, and client-focused.
  • Ability to work independently and in demanding environments.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent education and experience); QA/Test Engineering certification is a plus.
