THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Consulting Associate provides project leadership expertise for custom products and solutions, applying subject matter expertise across multiple topics and industry areas. This role is responsible for managing and executing existing forecasting, quantitative modeling, and research projects, while also developing and managing customer relationships from product development through successful project execution.
They will coordinate project teams across wireless, automotive, and internal consulting groups, as well as external contracting resources when necessary, and will manage administrative tasks related to cost accounting, invoicing, and subcontractor agreements. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the Executive Director, Consulting in scoping potential new products and projects, planning internal resources, and budgeting.
Candidates should possess working knowledge of semiconductor devices, wafer manufacturing, and the semiconductor supply chain, along with three to five or more years of experience in market research. Advanced knowledge of custom processes, the ability to develop and sell custom solutions, and strong project management skills are required. The role also demands effective communication with both external customers and internal stakeholders across syndicated market teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead and manage forecasting, quantitative modeling, and research projects, serving as project manager and/or project lead
- Utilize subject matter expertise to support and supplement analyst contributions on custom products
- Develop and manage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle, from product development to execution and follow-up
- Meet utilization targets and contribute to the development of functional strategy
- Coordinate project teams across wireless, automotive, internal consulting, and other teams, including external contractors as needed
- Anticipate business challenges, regulatory or vendor issues, and recommend process, product, or service improvements
- Solve complex, high-impact problems with a high degree of autonomy; comfortable managing projects with notable risk and complexity
- Partner with the Executive Director of Consulting, North America on scoping new projects, resource planning, and budgeting
- Establish and manage subcontractor agreements
- Manage administrative tasks related to cost accounting and invoicing
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Working knowledge of semiconductor devices, wafer manufacturing, and the semiconductor supply chain, with at least 3 years of experience in market research in these areas.
- 5+ years of project and/or product management experience. Previous consulting experience a plus.
- Understands primary and secondary research techniques and processes effective for supporting foundry, IDM, and fabless customers.
- Analytically strong and comfortable working with complex data sets and research methodologies.
- Commercially minded and able to translate research and data into sellable solutions.
- Highly autonomous and self-directed, with the ability to coordinate across many teams without direct authority over them.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, particularly around new product scoping and development.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage external customer and internal stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage administrative responsibilities such as subcontractor agreements, invoicing, and cost accounting.
