THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in bridging the gap between our technical teams and our customers. This position involves leveraging both engineering expertise and sales acumen to understand customer requirements, articulate how our products and solutions can address their challenges, and ultimately drive sales growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering compelling presentations and demonstrations that highlight the technical advantages of our offerings, while also addressing customer questions and concerns with confidence. You will work closely with the sales team to develop strategies that align with client needs and ensure a smooth transition from the sales process to implementation.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in building relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives, and providing tailored solutions that deliver value. Your insights and feedback will also be valuable in shaping product development and product marketing strategies, as you gather information on market trends and customer preferences.
We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong interpersonal, marketing, and communication skills and a passion for helping customers succeed, with strong writing abilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Execute go-to-market strategy for key products and enhancements, supporting launch planning.
- Conduct product demos for customers and prospects as needed by sales.
- Cultivate relationships across product managers, customer experience, product marketing, marketing operations, sales, platform technical staff, and leadership to identify opportunities and prioritize efforts.
- Implement workflows to refine and create efficiencies in day-to-day activities and engagements.
- Create engaging customer communications to drive active use and update on product changes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on sales calls, collaborating with Product Management on customer inquiries.
- Work with Account Executives to create detailed proposals based on customer needs and our solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and technologies to effectively position solutions.
- Build strong client relationships to promote long-term partnerships.
- Assist in customer training on product usage and best practices.
- Lead complex customer implementations above a certain revenue threshold.
- Identify upsell opportunities with existing customers.
- Attend trade shows and events to promote products and network with potential clients.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to ensure messaging aligns with customer needs.
- Align stakeholders on compelling product positioning and messaging tailored to segments and personas.
- Work with Marketing Operations to develop an integrated content plan that drives active users, sales pipeline, and renewals.
- Contribute to strategic discussions on product roadmap, product training, marketing initiatives, collateral concepts, internal processes, and sales tools.
- Create content targeting personas at various funnel stages, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
- Develop use cases for training and website/platform content.
- Develop a sales enablement toolkit to help Account Executives and Inside Sales exceed revenue and user goals.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are an experienced sales engineer with a background in the semiconductor industry
- You can turn complex, technical content into impactful stories
- You have a strong understanding of marketing and sales processes
- You are confident in producing successful go-to-market strategies, have strong written and oral communications skills, and can think from a customer’s point of view while considering the needs of the business
- You can collaborate and confidently mediate across teams and subject matter, on all levels of understanding and seniority
- You have the desire to create compelling content, analysis, presentation materials, mock-ups, and enablement tools quickly and efficiently.
- Willing to work on site from TechInsights' San Jose, CA office
